Colour Me Neutral
- Project Name: Colour Me Neutral
- Location: Malad, Mumbai
- Site Area: 900 sq.ft.
- Design Team: Yashasvi Mehta, Dishita Shah
- Type Of Project: Residential
The client was very clear since the start that they wanted their entire house to be in the neutral colour palette along with doors that seamlessly disappeared in the paneling.
The theme of the house is constant throughout. The colour palette is neutral and the design is modern. A sense of mystery engulfs the house as the paneling conceals the entrance to the bedrooms. To enter the house, one must pass through the light tunnel and be welcomed by the open living room that spills into the dining area rather seamlessly. The dining nook is an informal area that invites guest to have a cup of tea over some cozy seating and good conversations.
Murphy beds were constructed to save space and to give the clients additional space. The murphy beds when closed are secretly tucked away behind the sofa creating another example of seamless designing.
This entire project needed us to focus on the deeper needs of the client. They needed extra space for storage which was easily accessible yet invisible. Their aversion to colour made us focus on how different shades of neutral can be used to create contrast and to make the space sing in harmony. The client needed a modern design with space saving solutions to make room for them to entertain guests and to indulge in yoga and fitness training. User friendly approach led us to design a place that is not only appealing to anyone visiting this house but also incredibly comfortable for the people living in it.
